Personally, im still working on this line of thought myself and idk it would help you in your own situation, but whatever tribulations you're going through, I wish you the best, and success fr.

So its ok to want, and to create those new layers for yourself, even tho its tough af to do, and it will still be you and will feel true to you, as much of you as you emphasize it. And I believe, when you become who you want to be, those people will still care because the layer WILL still be you.

Idk if It will work for you, but personally I started to believe that all those layers/pieces I think are false ARE ME. There is no true self to attain, every layer is you, either given or created by you, and its up to you to choose which layers you emphasize or create for you, in order to feel true
