The Shutdown It was always the plan.

In light of Sarah Kendzior being suspended from this site, I want to share one of their recent news letters- it reads like poetry, to me. Sarah has a way with words and always hits the nail on the head. I encourage you to read the following or any of their work

Hello @support.bsky.team

I heard from Sarah Kendzior @sarahkendzior.bsky.social that her account was suspended.

Can you please look into this and reinstate her account? She’s a published author and scholar on authoritarianism. Her presence here is valuable.

Armistice Day, 1918 My grandfather's notebook, written in the days following the Armistice on November 11th, 1918.

Armistice Day, 1918
Veteran’s Day in the US is Remembrance Day in the UK and Commonwealth member nations. Both holidays originated as Armistice Day, remembering November 11th, 1918, when the armistice ending hostilities in the Great War was signed.

Fortunately, WA is an open primary state. Fortunately also, Patty Murray is pretty good, one of the better voices in senate dem leadership, and Maria Cantwell is at least not awful.

Well, that makes sense. We push them into the future so we don't have I deal with them. But we caught up with the future.

But rooting for all the others.

Keeping riches requires exclusion and control, which in turn requires authoritarianism, in other words, rules for poor people.

Techno-feudalism, I think they call it. The end game of late stage capitalism. So much that used to be science fiction needs to be moved to current affairs.

Yes, went to school in England in the fifties to a school for the next generation of imperial overlords . All the countries that had already become independent were still pink on the map because "they were still ours really." That things haven't got better is clear from Brexit to Farage.

Unfortunately, it's easier to imagine the end of democracy than the end of capitalism. For that matter, it's easier to imagine the end of the world than the end of capitalism.

For any unfamiliar with the quality of journalism at Teen Vogue, it's well known for hard-hitting stories on "politically sensitive" topics including climate.

Then there's CBS: the only major network to increase climate coverage in the last few years. They just axed nearly their whole climate team.

Ha! I was born in NW England to parents from Yorkshire, moved to Portsmouth, which has its own class-coded accent that was frowned upon in school, went to college in Manchester with friends mostly from Yorkshire and where a regional accent gave you street cred,
