Famed web/beach hunk. Teaching Latin and Greek when not watching SCTV. Mostly posting drivel & bellywash (all posts are for educational purposes)
Nuance was a pre-3rd millennium luxury
12.02.2026 18:40 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0(Again, this is why I emphasize the info vs. understanding bit. AI will never "know" in the sense of intellection; it's a difference of quality, not kind)
12.02.2026 18:09 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0For things involving method (STEM, very rule bound topics), it can work; for instance, I plug my Greek notes and exams in it to make sure all accents are correct (saves me time).
Things involving the personal? Ain't no method for that; gotta use prudence, and no machine can develop that
It's also disheartening to see how many people fought it at first, but eventually caved in. Never shall I ever do drugs to "just one bump"...
12.02.2026 16:31 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I presume I ought use a gnomic aorist to make sure they know this ain't a passing thing?
12.02.2026 16:25 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 049.8 is mean glare territory; 49.5 is wait and see; 49 is a time of mourning, no time to add insult to injury (real empaths would get it)
12.02.2026 16:22 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0According to AI, it's both!
(it only used fifteen em dashes to get me there, too)
(have to get this out of my system twice a year, like going to the dentist or hurling paint cans at the human sized guinea pig that tries to take my home)
12.02.2026 15:45 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0if you hold that an AI "knows", you either baptize its capacity for rationality (elevate it) or treat human understanding as something Humean (reduce us)
12.02.2026 15:44 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I don't care if we learn it with analytic philosophy, continental philosophy, Aristotle, RuPaul...our society /has/ to put in more time understanding the distinctions between:
i) humans and things and
ii) presentation of data and understanding/knowledge
Standing silently behind the auto shop, impatiently waiting for some weird guy to come from the sky and say "taste the rainbow" and/or turn your best man into an Old Spice deodorant stick, "hunter gather" flavoured

11.02.2026 20:25 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0thank you all for blessing the timeline today with minimal doom.
In gratitude, Mr. SAKAMOTO will be blessing you with a complimentary gift; do not mind his tendency to linger and whisper "domo"
I think it reasonable to be weary of willfully courting the demonic (esp. with a theological understanding of what's up).
That said, I'd presume the intent and ritual are more problematic than a mere object used in the process. It's mainly a spooky toy that unnerves Victorian mores
I know I could make a beverage better than Pepsi...
but I'm really committed to calling it "yum yum gulp beverage, a christian liquid"; my peepaw asked me to do so in a legally binding will
I don't know if this is better or worse; gonna stick to rickshaws for now

The greek goddesses would NOT have annihilated me. I am good at creaming butter and have a "knowing side eye".
The gods, however? Good question. Hephaestus is mad at me because I never returned his tongs, but he won't respond in the Lads Chat. We both still use the time share, though :)
It's aged so very, very well
(I've been going back myself, and much more 2000s music has aged better than I expected)
