Why? And how can they rebuild their coalition more effectively?

Their strategy here is “Win over elderly reactionaries or bust”, and it’s helpful to understand that for them, “bust” means “very well-remunerated post-politics job with corporate donor” or at worst, “period in opposition, then try again with exactly the same shit”.

“The Government needs to wake up - and it is starting to wake up. We’ve got an opportunity in this next six months to really push for this change... support is growing in the Parliamentary Labour Party.”
