Having the refs mic'ed up has confirmed the thing I always knew. That the only phrase they say with any sense of authority is 'mum says you have to give me a turn with the controller'.

'Can you grab me a San Pellegrino out of the fridge? They're just next to the lotion in the basket.'

I'll be honest, San Pellegrino, if I open up someone's fridge and see that then I'd be 100% certain they're a serial killer.

I mostly work in realtime animation so up to this point I've mainly been making textures smaller to process faster. Besides a couple of months in my MA I've never really gone into shader maths before, so its cool to have a bit of a go.

On my lunch hour I had another little go at Cotton Wool, density + displacement maps, and a bit of maths etc. Bit too silky, not quite enough disruption as yet.

Lens effect bloom pushes a lot of values around and I don't quite have a handle on how to counteract them in resolve as yet. This is too much, but slightly less isn't enough. What fun.

Finally getting down to actually understanding the maths behind height maps. Avoided it for years but the time has come. Also, trying to rid myself of all adobe poison so learning Da Vinci Resolve workarounds.

Here's a bad thing I made as a test because the colour spaces are different. ENJOY.

The bass often plays the melody and the guitar the harmony making it deceptively complex in places.

They made two records and two eps, none of which was anything less than class.

Nearly twenty years since this record came out. I remember asking for it in Concepts record shop in Durham, only for the man to sigh, open the CD player and take it out. They only had one copy and he's been playing it on repeat.

People say recumbent bikes look ridiculous, but I find it perfect for transporting my tiny red triangular flag with eight foot pole attachment.

Michael Gambon in this makes you feel like you're being stalked by a wild animal.

I don't know if you see anything with that sort of fluidity or care for motifs and little echoes very much. Probably why it's so striking when you do.
Also a young David Thewlis is in it for a bit.

Gambon is absolutely magnetic. There's shots of him silently gazing into space and you can't take your eyes off him. It's just phenomenal.

Me and the wife have been rewatching The Singing Detective, and wow, what great telly.

Let's be clear. This is nothing. Demonstrations with thousands or even tens of thousands are frequently entirely ignored. That the BBC chooses to put this on the front page of their news website is a political decision as to what positions to push.
