RIP Robert Duvall. An incredible catalogue of work that people will revisit for generations to come. So it goes.

If children were more politically active they would be quite pissed to be told that their screen time is β€œthe most urgent public health issue” while the largest measles outbreak since the vaccine sweeps their schools because of conspiracies that the adults in their life believed from social media.

Britain’s Story: The Next Chapter - BBC Royal Charter Review, Green Paper and public consultation

This is the Gov looking for your input on the BBC. It takes a while to complete (15/20 mins) but it’s pretty comprehensive and covers most aspects.

Please share. I’m surprised many people haven’t seen it yet.

British journalists are always like "I only had 4 annual european holidays growing up, because my father, the Baron, was a bit of a cheapskate, so really I am working class" then 5 minutes later decree an actual working class person a faker because they drink coffee

Just to reiterate that all you need to know about UK class system is that Lord of the Flies is read as a comment about human nature and not about how inept and bullying public school boys can be.

Star Trek Into Darkness (2013)
Watched by Branson Reese 28 Apr 2022

Abrams isn't a man so much as he's an avatar of cultural entropy. If you make something popular enough eventually you will die or sell it off and and a person in thick rimmed glasses whose main artistic vision is that he loves to have meetings will take it and sandblast it until it's nothing. I hate to see this happen here but maybe it's good that this happened. Maybe every franchise should collapse into a version of itself that makes shareholders nod and shake each others' hands. We should learn to speak in a language that rich people who don't dream can't comprehend.

Unbelievably infuriating that this is how these swine are finally going to deal with the long Labour ratfucking campaign in which *the same people* deliberately put their thumbs on the scales in a general election campaign.

I think I meant this in the way the mice have their own Queen Victoria in Basil The Great Mouse Detective. But maybe I mean more like Starmer is Graeme's Wario? Fuck, I bet dogs can't stand Starmer.

Otherwise though, yikes. They made it while the actors were on strike, and it's the last clip show to date, but they don't even pick good clips, and then Kang and Kodos show up, which is never good outside Halloween... just yikes.

You may laugh, but the Macbeths are a much better role model for a marriage than Romeo and Juliet. They discuss their problems (killing the king of Scotland), share their hobbies (killing the king of Scotland), and resolve their conflicts (by killing the king of Scotland).
