Tl;dr: I think I liked it a lot, but need time to think back on it. It felt a lot like a cross between Babel and Yellowface, and I really liked both of those, so there was a lot to like here.

It was pretty thrilling to be following another disaster/bad person main character (like yellowface). I also really liked Peter, so that was fun too.

The magick is pretty cool actually, and as usual with RF Kuang, the writing is incredibly cutting at certain types of people and talking points.

A little behind but I finished this two days ago! I’m having a lot of trouble sorting through my feelings on it.
