now, imagine for a second, the amount of boardings per day, as expressed by additional cars on the road:
111,041. Per DAY.
Washington's portion of I-5, let alone any road would be a literal parking lot. (not to say it isn't already at specific times)

my day's just turned infuriating, as i've just found out that my application to a program was not delivered, despite the fact that i literally biked to the physical address & handed it to the front desk.
now that it's been nearly 3 weeks, that lapse likely means i don't get reviewed/accepted. π€¬

what good is that?! it's so much more fun to send a "don't save the date, we've already taken to decline the invite you might have given to yourself" with the wrong location and time as a means to spite them.

When the Lake to Sound Trail opens one will be able to bike on 75 miles of fully separated bike trails from Alki around Lake Washington down to Des Moines (blue).
We should be thinking of the missing link that will be created in West Seattle now (red).

Do you visit National Parks?
Would you like to visit using transit?
Tell the parks service to prioritize adding transit and bike access to and in the Ross Lake area of North Cascades Natl Park. 14 hours left.
More transit & bike demand here means more likely other natl parks will follow suit.

11 more NYC libraries will soon open on Sundays
A $2 million City Council deal will expand seven-day service to more than 30 branches citywide.
Eleven more libraries will reopen on Sundays, thanks to the leadership of the City Council. They never should've been closed in the first place.
As Mayor, I'll end this absurd budget dance that keeps our beloved libraries in limbo year after year.

U.S. may require visa applicants to post bond up to $15,000 to enter country
The State Department is proposing requiring applicants for business and tourist visas to post a bond of up to $15,000 to apply to enter the United States.
If you're from a country with a weaker economy or difficult entry requirements into the US: do not spend money on GDC. Do not book a ticket. Do not book a hotel. Do not pay for a visa. Skip that cynical for-profit extortion, or the US will take your money & spit you out.

I was raised in a household where the topic of taxes was never explained, just that they were bad, spent on the wrong thing, & too high. It was a buzzword.
Now that I know what it actually funds - hell yeah, taxes are a good thing. I just want rich folk to contribute & pay their due.

Until we pass a nationwide ban on gerrymandering (which we need), Democrats should gerrymander every state to the fullest extent. 52-0 in CA, 17-0 in IL, and so on. No more unilateral disarmament. Time to get serious about fighting back.
