So apparently it is incredibly unsafe to fly on an airplane in America now because they have gutted just about everything to make sure people are safe while flying. That should put a lot of airlines out of business. .

today’s thought: respect and protect disabled, elderly, and unhoused people with the knowledge that one day, you will become disabled, elderly and/or unhoused.

we both just got better jobs with better pay and were excited to be able to afford trips home more frequently, and now the thought of flying in the US has me sick to my stomach.

this is the bad place.

while we have no regret because we did what we did for the safety and well-being of ourselves and our daughter, we can't lie and say we don't miss being able to drive a few minutes to see our families, because now we are unsure when/if we'll feel safe doing so again.

1 year ago we went on a trip to visit them.

today, we are terrified to get on an airplane.

we didn't know things would be this bad when we made the move.

Just a reminder that if you tell a disabled person to move out of the US if they’re scared of living here, other countries don’t want us either. Countries will turn you away because you’re disabled. We’re seen as a burden and that’s so normalized that it’s okay to turn us away.
