Hi #WeeknightWriters! I’m oakleaf, and I’m still chugging away at my “guy and dog rescue two elf princes by accident” wip. It’s coming along slowly as I find my way into the climax… of book one. I have a strong feeling there’s going to be at least a book two 😂

How I know a book/fic is really good: I get too involved and have to stop reading it 😩

It drives me bonkers how hard it is for me to read fiction anymore. It’s not even that I can’t focus or can’t get invested, it’s almost the opposite. If I can focus long enough to get invested my brain goes in so hard on it that sometimes it gives me anxiety?? Anyone else have this or am I broken???

Given that I think playing the cello as a kid contributed to some of my problems I can attest that use actually can make things worse! Like I would have had scoliosis anyway, but weird one-sided body use didn’t help I think

I have unscented moisturizer and I can still just barely handle the smell. My mom put on lotion the other day and it wasn’t even a bad scent (I like coconut) but it was SO STRONG. Just from moisturizer! Why!! And it’s like no one else notices!!!

I mean, I won’t die like people with peanut allergies, but it does make me feel pretty unwell. I’ve known I was sensitive to garlic for years and just made an effort to eat less of it and always well cooked down, but now it’s a big Nope. I could never bite into an onion 😂

The food one is, I have some sort of sensitivity to alliums (onion and especially garlic are the worst offenders for me). I used to be able to eat them in small amounts but at this point even the smell is enough to make me feel ill. The chemical stuff and other smells I have no idea

Bodies are truly very strange. Mine goes “a smell? NO” and makes me feel immediately unwell. Even certain cooking smells. Idk why!!!

My wild ass guess is that this could be impacted by moisture levels in your sinuses (more moisture means more smell, probably why smells are worse for you with hot water involved). But yeah my sniffer is a bit TOO GOOD and it’s no fun

Lemme tell ya being super sensitive to smells and especially cleaning supplies SUCKS BALLS DUDE. People I live with are very reasonably trying to like! Clean things! Which is normal and fine and I am FUCKING MISERABLE
