Someone needs to explain to normies that the plan to “Make America Healthy Again” works by killing the sick people.

just gave myself a little nervous system break to harvest and hang some tulsi 🌱

I let my tulsi bed grow a little wild this year since it self-seeded & I never thinned it. so the plants were thick but short basically. so I just harvested a lot to dry for later (but I left some flowers for the bees!)

my question isn’t about the etiology of lc, it’s about the growth of the chronic illness community in general.

there’ve been enormous social changes within chronic illness communities & advocacy bc of the increase in people who self-identify as having lc, regardless of symptom profile or severity.

btw I am interested in quantifying long covid as a social phenomenon. I know (and am unfussed by) the fact that it is an umbrella term that is somewhat medically meaningless.

but the number of people who self identify as having LC have transformed the chronic illness community, which interests me.

I was browsing their recent coverage and didn’t see any specific numbers, even though I’m sure they must talk about it somewhere

I don’t think that’s a dirty secret, I think that’s how all clinical diagnoses work.

where are people finding the most recent estimates of the prevalence of long covid?

like how many people in the US have lc right now?

I know I’ve seen this reported many times over the years but ofc now I can’t find it or can only find research papers with wildly varied percentages reported.

ty!

yesterday i went to a jeopardy taping and someone in production asked me to take off my n95 for when the camera sweeps the audience. i said “…no?” and then i didn’t do it. and nothing bad happened! so: try saying no more. it’s good practice for the fascism.

Healey puts state on its own vaccine path Three-pronged plan to give people vaccines ‘they need and want in Massachusetts’

it’s so terribly sad in what it means for people who don’t live in these places. I was reading about the Mass plan this morning and feeling personally reassured by like, also devastated.

ppl in red states do not deserve to die en masse bc of this abdication!

I just keep thinking about how many people won’t even try to get vaccinated this year because they’ll assume it’s not available to them, even if it is.

Photo of a person's left hand showing typical areas of pain for two similar tendon problems

De Quervain tenosynovitis pain is outlined in green, and covers the outer part of the hand from the base of the thumb to below the wrist

Intersection syndrome pain is outlined in pink, and is on the back of the forearm just below the wrist (on the thumb side)

does anyone in #NEISvoid or just bluesky generally have experience with "intersection syndrome"

I'm finding... Not very concrete info on which exercises are good/bad for it, and hoping someone here has personal experience with it

It is allegedly "rare"
