I received some mylar balloons last weekend that I have festively tied to my ipad stand and my dog Charlie does NOT approve. he is *extremely* disturbed by their ominous floating presence.

like if you have lived the kind of life that has you ideologically invested in rehabbing violent white people (which many white people have, it is our work to do after all) then like! stop excusing the violent behavior and learn about what exit work actually requires!

the resources are out there.

Life After Hate We are a non-profit organization committed to helping people leave hate-fueled violence to connect with humanity and lead compassionate lives.

I just keep thinking about how there are actual existing orgs working to rehabilitate nazis & white right wing men, and they are focused on teaching accountability & compassion not condemning purity tests & further enabling / normalizing extremism.

it’s a weird middle zone, compared to some earlier stages of other-people-relating-to-precautions.

I’m getting more enthused about the card idea! there are also shirts & stickers that I’ve known about for a while, but this was the first time where I was like oooh this is the context for that tool.

20.10.2025 22:17 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

ooh that’s nice!

yeah it’s like… tacit acceptance of me masking is better than outright hostility by still not really a great feeling.

20.10.2025 22:14 — 👍 2    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

ooh that is good to know! I’m maxed out right now but will keep that in minds next year.

there WERE other masked people at the march, but certainly not a majority of people.

and I have reached out to the organizers before about precautions at their meetings and gotten no response.

I don’t really have a point here, just reflecting on a future opportunity I guess.

I find that a lot of people I know now are able to accept/respect that I wear a mask bc of my disability & risk profile, but there is a real dissonance around the idea that they may be at risk too, or that they may be putting other people at risk through choosing not to think about precautions.

and I’m in a lot of online covid conscious & disability spaces that have really saved my sanity these last five years.

but I want to know more local people who are still masking too, to maybe build some power and new norms around precautions to counteract that alienation idk.

it’s hard because I do find it really alienating how prevalent covid denial or at least covid disinterest is in a lot of leftist spaces, including these marches.

I’m so fucking tired of raising awareness about precautions & fighting for precautions & the trademark glazed over looks this inspires.

I was able to go to a local No Kings rally this weekend and I’m glad I went because the energy really is contagious and the opposite of doom scrolling. we wore N95s.

next time I want to buy & bring these cards to start connecting with other masked folks.

REMINDER REMINDER REMINDER:

If you are protesting, wear a mask. If you are organizing a protest, encourage attendees to mask. Disable people are among those most at risk from these fascist fuckers & they deserve your inclusion & consideration.

And use alt text on your digital flyers!

I think this is a generally good article but there is no discussion at all about prevention or the fact that most kids are getting sick *at school* in the first place.

like yes we need to talk about accommodations & absenteeism, but we also really really need to talk about clean air standards.

no influx here either, i think it’s probably like, not disability folks this round?

If you gave up masking long ago, you can start anytime. “But none of my friends do.” Think back: did some of your friends “just disappear” in 2021 and stop planning hang outs with you?

All I can add to the “we reject universal masking” discourse is that it’s not about masks. You aren’t rejecting universal masking, which never happened; you’re rejecting having to think about wearing a mask, and maybe feeling badly about thinking about masks. Can’t help you there.

due to incredible work behind the scenes by our local salesperson, we're able to get the accessories for an unheard of 25% off (usually it's 10% max), so we're actually only $97 away from getting almost our whole wishlist

can you help us make $97

please share & donate if you can, thank you so much

Someone needs to explain to normies that the plan to “Make America Healthy Again” works by killing the sick people.
