I am excited--despite everything--to look at disability pride month as an opportunity to sink into how change can be maintained and created.

Hey Bsky, I am a journalist looking to speak with US health-care workers (doctors, nurses, specialists) who are moving to Canada. I'm curious to hear what their experience is like getting visas, licensed, moving. Overall easy or bureaucratic nightmare? DMs are open, HMU.

I once got a note from an editor during a meeting that said, "I expected you to be pricklier" which I take as a badge of honour.

And also, ask yourself if it's just your favourite outlet that isn't covering this. There are tons of independent outlets of various sizes and strengths that may never reach your fav news media's front page.

I do wonder how much a rating matters on the customer side. Mine is 4.99 so I guess I wouldn't see its impact.

This is an N of 1 situation, but I've had multiple calls--including follow ups with Uber support--around how a denial of service was handled. I've never managed to have that with a cab company and I've seen that particularly law blatantly disregarded many times.

t least on Uber (can't speak for Lyft) there's a complaint mechanism. The same thing happens with cabs with very little recourse, in my experience.

Freelancers, if you want work during a month that has a theme—especially a big one like Pride or NDEAM—you probably need to be putting your availability out two months ahead, not during the month.

I’m beginning to wish I was tech-y enough to build a Bluesky bot that replied under threads of journalists using words like crazy or insane and asking them if it was relevant or just casual ableism.

Not really, of course, the whole concept of automated replies sucks, but goodness am I tired of it.
