Well, everything. The death of art. [Laughs.] A thing that I’ve been struck by in the last year of tech development around art is that what makes us human is making art, even if you’re not a professional artist. This is kind of corny, but I think about cavemen, right? One of the first things we ever did as a species was put our handprints on a wall, and it’s just this drive that has always been there. It’ll always be there. And I think it’s preposterous that these people are suggesting that they develop this technology, and the first thing they want to eliminate is art, so you have more time to…what, email? I don’t know what they think I’m going to do with my fucking day. Most of the population is not artists, but a lot of the population has artistic hobbies, and if you replace that with a computer doing it for you or whatever, it’s just pointless. I think there’s a death drive in these people, almost, and an actual hatred of artists; they are jealous of people with imagination because they don’t have one, and they almost consciously want to eliminate it.

β€ŽShell Shock: the unlikely glory of Steve Barron’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at 35 β€’ Journal β€’ A Letterboxd Magazine β€’ Letterboxd As Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles turns 35 and prepares for a theatrical re-release, director Steve Barron tells Isaac Feldberg about the challenging production and breathtaking triumph of the 1990 blockbuster that nobodyβ€”except Jim Hensonβ€”believed in.

β€œWhen the AI movies hit, remember this golden age... it’s so cool that you could at one point stick guys into giant animatronic turtle suits, and everyone would be like, β€˜Hell yeah, man, this rocks.’ Shame that movies just don’t look like this anymore.”

Pentagon ran secret anti-vax campaign to incite fear of China vaccines The covert effort began under Trump and continued into Biden’s presidency, Reuters found. Health experts say it endangered lives for possible geopolitical gain.

Reminder: There is is *more* evidence of the Trump admin colluding w/ social media companies to push political propaganda on a foreign population than there is for anything they say about China.

Hey is it bad if google AI search results stop people from leaving google dot com 99% of the time? All our news and information creators can survive just fine with one percent of their previous search traffic right? I’m sure it’s fine. www.404media.co/googles-ai-i...

In fact, Trump claims that Murdoch promised to "take care of" the Epstein story, so it's possible that the staff of WSJ is publishing this *against* its owner's wishes.

None of this will be news to anyone who logs onto major tech platforms or follows this stuff, but it is very much worth noting the sheer volume and relentlessness of the push to sell AI features. It suggests, yet again, users do not organically turn to AI or seek it out on their own.

And this shouldn't be a surprise, since so many in the TESCREAL lack a basic definition of humanity. There are already *conscious humans* who the TESCREALites refuse to recognize as people. Why the hell would we expect them to define consciousness?

Leaked Documents Show OpenAI Has a Very Clear Definition of β€˜AGI’ We finally have a real definition of the elusive "AGI."

Reminder that the people who spend all day, everyday promising/warning of "superintelligence" still can't define it. Open AI's *best* definition is "whatever makes us $100 billion." Such a joke.

Travis Kalanick, the founder of Uber who no longer works at the company, appeared on All-In to talk with hosts Jason Calacanis and Chamath Palihapitiya about the future of technology. When the topic turned to AI, Kalanick discussed how he uses xAI’s Grok, which went haywire last week, praising Adolf Hitler and advocating for a second Holocaust against Jews.

β€œI’ll go down this thread with [Chat]GPT or Grok and I’ll start to get to the edge of what’s known in quantum physics and then I’m doing the equivalent of vibe coding, except it’s vibe physics,” Kalanick explained. β€œAnd we’re approaching what’s known. And I’m trying to poke and see if there’s breakthroughs to be had. And I’ve gotten pretty damn close to some interesting breakthroughs just doing that.”
