Join the National Academies Board on Science Education for a one-day hybrid event that will bring together leaders across domains to discuss the key insights and recommendations from the recently released consensus study report, Understanding and Addressing Misinformation about Science, and identify opportunities for multi-sectoral action. This report is a comprehensive assessment of the available evidence on the nature, scope, and impacts of misinformation about science and reflects a systems view of the phenomenon given the broader contexts and challenges that shape peopleโs lived experiences and their relationships to information. The report also provides guidance on interventions, policies, and future research toward mitigating potential harms from misinformation about science across a diversity of individuals, communities, and societies. DATE Sep 25, 2025 9:15AM - 3:30PM ET LOCATION Keck Center 500 5th St NW Washington DC 20001 USA
Sept 25th marks a free 1-day symposium on "Understanding & Addressing Misinformation About Science," including opportunities for coordinated multi-sector action. In-person + virtual participation available: www.nationalacademies.org/event/45553_...

2. BUT it has had bipartisan support for decades, whichโฆ

While our official job ad is on the way, we are seeking PhD students to join @neuromadlab.bsky.social for projects running in Bonn.
The candidate will lead projects on body-brain interactions using brain stimulation to improve core symptoms of depression: www.neuromadlab.org/jobs #neurojobs
You can get an accurate estimate of total bacterial biomass from stool metagenomes by simply normalizing by host read count, without needing any additional measurements.

Thank you! It was an interesting hypothesis with much left to uncover.
30.06.2025 20:18 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Hypotheses and overall findings
Overall- we uncovered novel hypotheses related to a gut-adipose-liver axis that should be tested in future studies that focus on a broader range of MASLD physiology and evaluate people with and without diabetes and obesity.
30.06.2025 17:21 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Gene modules related to adipose insulin resistance and encroachment.
We did not find differences in biomarkers of gut permeability or colon histology (by group or overall). What we did find were colonic gene modules that were correlated with adipose insulin resistance encroachment.
30.06.2025 17:21 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Insulin resistance between groups
We found a range of encroachment from low to high- similar to what has been seen in people w diabetes/obesity. It could be that insulin resistance is a key driver since all participants had obesity. We then set out to determine what might distinguish high vs low encroachment.
