Thai basil and beef with Fresno chilis and white rice

Dinner tonight was a spicy Thai basil and beef. He had the non spicy version but was still only mostly interested in the rice despite how delicious the dish was!

there's also a cumulative effect. how do you even learn what a good issue description is if a nontrivial amount of issues and PR you've seen are slop. if you grow up surrounded by uncanny valley, do you even see slop? what is it like to be slop-native?

Day 37/38. After a 3 mile run on Wednesday, I was bogged down with work on Thurs/Fri and didn’t have time for a run. This morning I finally got back out and did nearly 6 miles. Felt so strong when I finished that I signed up for a fall 10k as soon as I got home!

This segues into LLM (I refuse to call it Ai) hype, because it’s accelerating this decline (and I see it everyday). Those that hype it either haven’t learned the lessons and don’t understand the mistakes they’re making OR fail to see the harm its doing to newer engineers.

Zirp era introduced a ton of new jobs with the goal of shipping at any costs. Too many of these hires learned the wrong lessons and mentorship was deprioritized. Too few pushed themselves to improve. We’re in a culture of mid. I’ll keep fighting against it but the current results aren’t surprising.

Day 35/36. Sunday I ran an easy 2 miles. Today, 3.5. As I increase weekly mileage Im keeping pace slow and heart rate down on most runs. Ive been successful until Dreams and Nightmares comes on and I get that 2017 NFC championship game energy. Then all bets are off.
