Went to see Stewart Lee's latest show tonight, which was delightful.
We booked the tickets last year when Mar was in hospital, and I can think of no better way to celebrate being alive.

My favourite streaming service will be whichever one that sets "watch the credits" as the default.

16.02.2026 08:59 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Did I fabulate that the 90s dance track "Poing" had a voice sample actually saying the word poing? Like in a sort of Teutonic accent? Is that a different song than this one? www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqD1...

13.02.2026 20:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It's weird to think that Warhammer 40,000 Roguetrader was the same year as Michael Jackson's Moonwalker. I can't quite calibrate that.

09.02.2026 21:46 β π 6 π 5 π¬ 1 π 0Took the day off to watch the Superbowl without being spoiler'd. A weird year of football led to a much more thrilling finale than last year, I'm enjoying my ability to parse what's going on improving as we watch more NFL, and two strong defenses battling each other was really fascinating. Sports!
09.02.2026 18:03 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Moorcock suggests Jones is weak willed for being hypnotised, tells the UFO expert that research into hallucinogens is more valid and when asked about the novelisation of The Great Rock n Roll Swindle, which he is on to plug says "I did it for the money and don't remember anything about it" π
08.02.2026 20:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0On Youtube, there is an episode of the TV show Paperbacks, presented by Terry Jones. The kind of awkward arts show that Python parodies constantly but has long been completed absent from UK telly. Michael Moorcock is on this episode, and he is very clearly high AF and tenuously present. It's great!

If you're a UK kid of 'a certain age' it's possible that Transformers the Movie means a whole lot to you. If that's you like it's me, then I can't encourage you enough to go listen to this majestic version:
"Hotrod, the shuttle is coming - let's go watch it land!"
A page from the 1987 Warhammer 40,000 Rogue Trader book featuring a full page black & white illustration by Will Rees this one is of a βMarine Commanderβ Leman Russ, absolutely disgusting looks like heβs been put through a magi mix and then badly reassembled

A page from the 1987 Warhammer 40,000 Rogue Trader book featuring a full page black & white illustration by Will Rees in this One a couple of disgusting looking space marines, with heads that look like someone has slapped some week old charcuterie over a skull and called it a day
Games Workshop: You get those drawings of the heroes of our brand new toy range?
Will Rees: Sure did boss, real fuckin disgusting just like you asked.
GW: what
Collier Row was where 'ROM' skate-park was back in the 90s (might still be I dunno), maybe Norman should wait a couple of decades and get introduced to Black Flag and Fugazi and Dinosaur Junior while playing Double Dragon and hoping no-one notices that he can't skateboard.

Just hearing we've lost Sal Buscema, an absolute giant of comics and one of the true greats. His long run on Spectacular Spider-Man is as good as mainstream comics get. RIP to a genuine master.
