Was just saying the other day that we should get bingo cards for the popular Christmas songs.

Stunned to learn this news. Udo Kier’s filmography is undeniable, but his place as an out, queer figure in genre was, in a word, crucial. Uniquely eccentric and truly monolithic. Absolutely one of a kind.

Udo Kier, German Actor Who Appeared in β€˜My Own Private Idaho,’ β€˜Andy Warhol’s Frankenstein,’ Dies at 81 Udo Kier, a German actor who collaborated with everyone from Andy Warhol to Lars von Trier to Madonna, died on Sunday morning. He was 81.

Well this is rubbish news to wake up to. The man was in too many cult classics to list, and it was always a good sign if he cropped up in a film (if nothing else, the whole thing would likely be worth it for him alone). RIP.

Thoughts about β€œAI”
Yes it’s:
The slop
The theft
The brainrot
The loss of work
The crumbling of creator rights
The destroying of the environment and infrastructure
But it's also the destroying of trust in anything that you’re not seeing with your own eyes right in front of you.

Wonder now turned to the narrowing of eyes in immediate scepticism seeing something magical.
Questioning the realness of everything from a stilted written apology to profound works by students in school.
It feels like a slow poison to creativity and humanity at large.

Morning thoughts about "AI".

Where do we go from here?

He just introduces the story (as he seems to do on all episodes), sat in a study, which may be his or may be a set.

If ITV felt like spending the money then why not I guess!

I get that the original story was set there, but you'd have thought that the adaptation would have been set somewhere closer to home for budgetary reasons. There's no need for the story to be set in any specific place (except maybe a holiday destination where rich people hang out).

I have started watching TALES OF THE UNEXPECTED, and wasn't expecting Michael Ontkean off of TWIN PEAKS to turn up in the first episode.

Dunno why the first episode had to be set and filmed in Jamaica either, other than everyone fancied a jolly on ITVs money.

I got in via an agency when I was unemployed and didn't totally hate every second of it so applied for a permanent role when one became available.

Love how it's on proper telly though, despite both of us being absolute dog shit at the football this season.

Glad I'm not at Hillsborough, because it's just started pissing it down. That and the ever present threat of football related violence during a Sheffield derby.

Them: Hey Dan, what happened to your ankle?

Me: I got distracted at the gym and my foot went a bit wrong

Them: Oh aye! Checking out someone you fancied yeah?

Me: No. I just heard an opinion I didn't like on a horror film podcast.

Today is Jamie Lee Curtis' birthday, which also happens to be the "holiday" that kick-starts the events of the 1981 horror-comedy STUDENT BODIES. Slasher movies, there's one for every occasion!

AI bros claim they’re making art accessible but here’s the thing: art is already accessible to literally everyone. Anyone can make art. All you need to do is fight the mythic crimson Crayola beast and collect the seven sacred gems of Pencilia.

The Pantera singer talking to one of Babymetal, she has an expression which suggests he's being a tedious old head and/or mansplaining. Below it is a classic cat meme, a black cat looking unimpressed with a furry tabby. The parallels between the 2 photos are remarkable, from the framing to the expressions
