Lindor’s comments were made to another reporter so they were not his to use. I believe he did reach out to the team for comment.

I'm not saying they need to overhaul all of their systems and processes, but if a team is regressing a year after nearly making it to the World Series, and signing a generational hitter, yeah, it's fair to say they need to reevaluate the way they do some things.

I don't think the tone of the article is inflammatory, no.

While I do think it was overblown, it wasn't irresponsible journalism in the least. The Mets don't need to shed payroll and the Semien trade only makes sense if there's another move coming.

If players keep choosing the Dodgers over the Mets, the team should figure out what they can do to fix that.

Over the last few weeks, the Mets have traded a fan-favorite, fended off questions about clubhouse discord and lost out on Edwin Diaz to the Dodgers.

It might be time for them to take a look at how they operate.

Edwin Diaz going to the Dodgers has the Mets feeling pretty shocked right now. He had indicated to some he wanted to return to the Mets, but according to a source, he chose the Dodgers' offer instead.

The Mets offered three years at $66 million and were willing to improve it.

Faced with thin free agent pitching market, Mets may have to buck usual trend to improve staff The Mets only have to take a look around the league to see that their short-term fixes might be too short-sighted.

The Mets have made it known they're looking for a frontline starter. Will they be willing to give one more than 2-3 years?

David Stearns on the starting staff, the pitching market, and how he feels about the rotation as it's currently constructed.

Hello from Orlando! Notes from David Stearns on Day 1 of the winter meetings

- Sounds like Pete Alonso will not be meeting with the Mets this week in Orlando. Stearns said Pete knows them well enough.
- The Mets are looking for an outfielder
- Kodai Senga is having an β€œoutstanding” offseason

Much of the Mets offseason will be determined by what happens with Pete Alonso and Edwin Diaz, and if you thought they were going to go after a center fielder... well, maybe think again (key word being "maybe").

Paul DePodesta brings lessons from Mets as he leaves the NFL for Rockies DePodesta, of β€œMoneyball” fame, is back in baseball after a 10-year stint in the NFL.

Fame will always follow Paul DePodesta, but the former Mets farm director is now better equipped to handle the attention that comes from the "Moneyball" notoriety.

A decade after leaving the Mets for the NFL, he's ready to revive the Rockies.

Of note from David Stearns at the GM meetings, it’s too early to read the markets for Pete Alonso and Edwin Diaz. He believes that Alonso can improve defensively. Also said the same about Juan Soto’s outfield defense.

Cleveland’s MLB Field Coordinator and director of defense, base running, and game strategy.

CLE was a top-4 defensive unit by FRV, top-10 by DRS. The Guards also had MLB’s second-best win percentage in close games (.595) - compare that to Mets’ 2025 mark of .487 (19th)

Sounds like a good hire πŸ‘Œ

He just struck out the side to hold the lead in a crucial game.
