The plot shows the calculated extinction time of the covid pandemic vs the effective reproductive number. On the left is the prediction for the United Kingdom, which for Re=0.4 predicts the pandemic would die out after 100 to 150 days. On the right is the prediction for the globe, which predicts global extinction in less than 200 days for Re=0.4.
