you’re confusing LLMs with ML, which is something the LLM vendors have encouraged on purpose. They are distinct technologies and the conflation of them is a scam.

we are also likely seeing this effect being massively underreported as the people at the front of the line for any comms to journalists wrt AI are overwhelmingly people with some financial stake in it. If even they are admitting this, then it’s probably way worse

this is just the latest study to show that AI tools only give the illusion of efficiency, and actually reduce efficiency. They keep coming and they’ve all been very consistent in their findings.
