Magic: the Gathering should partner with Weebls Stuff to put like, Badgers and Magical Trevor, Narwhals, etc. on Magic cards. I would instantly become a Magic guy. You fucking know this is a good idea, Wizards of the Coast. Fucking do it, cowards.

While I am sad about some of the outcomes of my city elections, I was glad to see that passed pretty handily.

On the one hand, we should do all of it; don’t threaten me with a good time. On the other hand, Democrats waste every single opportunity on pussyfooting around and talking about decorum and bipartisanship, so it wouldn’t ever happen.

Even in the college town I lived in most of my life.. where I frequently would hit up a 24 hours grocery before going into my overnight shift, or when I got off at 2am, now only has like 2 shops that are even open until 11.

A lot of times, you can make a case of separating art from artists.

When the artist is directly using the money from their art to fund hateful things, no you cannot separate them. There is no defensible argument for doing so. The two are intertwined.

I am sad that mine lasted a ways into college, but I also grew up knowing a somewhat prolific libertarian author growing up and did theater with their kid in college. Had a lot of uncritical assumptions to work through.

Yeah I'll admit I had a libertarian phase. With that I was still going into it with the idea of trying to make things better for everyone but with a mistrust of the government, and also not yet realizing that equality without equity wasn't going to accomplish that goal.

The only benefit of comic books becoming such a niche interest that you have to go to a specialty store to buy them is I have made a ton of friends via the comic book store

It sucks. *alApparently* dismissing or saying not interested in enough of them in a row will pause most of that bullshit for around a month if I am remembering correctly.

Last night I watched a YouTube video about the terrible AI upscaling of the show Rosanne and he was like “don’t get me wrong, I use ChatGPT every day…” and man oh man did the comments turn on him immediately. Maybe the first time reading the comments actually gave me MORE hope for humanity.
