Father and husband. ๐ฌ๐ง๐จ๐ฆ Probably called grumpy by most, but deep down quite light hearted. Many trips around the sun, most of it on the bike.

Something that Carl Sagan might say......

Here he is shown shouting words of encouragement to Pooh.
Well on principle I don't buy my outdoor gear from Arcโteryx because I refuse to buy clothing that only works in temperature ranges of 5 degree C increments.
Need a waterproof for cold weather? Here's three jackets to cover the entire range of cold temps.
I feel seen.....

Interestingly, with re-issues of kits I built in my teens I have zero desire to build those again.
Need an emoji for when you receive an inappropriate aubergine.

oh I've put a similar piece of tatty nonsense on my house, too.
Every year: "we're not buying more crap for the house.....oh look, autumn colours".
Geezus. So now your local medieval historical society are doing re-enactments dressed as furries.
Thatโs getting pretty niche.
ah, Scumbag College.
In my teens at a Motorhead concert, caught a drumstick thrown by Philthy Taylor....and it was grabbed out of my hand. Pisses me off to this very day.
It's the time of year when all the strong beers start to appear on the shelves and I'm like Homer Simpson dancing with glee.

Another comment looking at my data again. A lot of those power over time metrics are skewed with riding conditions. I have to get through a lot of traffic on my rides, so unless Strava normalises power over those time intervals or everyone has the same conditions, those levels can be misleading.
17.09.2025 23:17 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Well, as I approach 60 this new analysis just makes me more depressed confirming that I'm not as fast as I was in my 20's and 30's.
The "level" aspect, meh, not much use. But the polar chart is interesting if you wanted to change the specificity of your training to address a weakness. (climbing!)
When I finally retire and give a speech, I will take a quote from Rimmer in Red Dwarf:
"I look at you as people.....people I've just met"
Think I have some old Winning magazines with pics when it was the USA champs. Always looked to be a great turn out on that section.
