Don't look at the Court's correct ruling on tariffs and what I anticipate to be a correct striking down of the birthright citizenship executive order as evidence of a moderate Supreme Court. The Justice have done, and continue to do, lots of mischief, including accreting more power for themselves.

The Madisonian system also depends on incentives that Congress is too craven to respond to. (see previous post)

Tbf, “The tariffs are illegal because the Major Questions Doctrine prevents the use of tariffs under IEEPA” - as opposed to “There is obviously no emergency & also the tariffs violate about two dozen other laws & ratified treaties, get rid of this junk now” - is also a bunch of extralegal nonsense.

Everyone pretends it’s complicated but it isn’t: we pay taxes to the government and the government does things with our tax dollars. Politics is about what they do with the money. Taxation without representation is tyranny - and theft.

They’re giving your tax dollars to defense contractors instead of using it in ways that benefit you. Unless of course you are a defense contractor. The lie is that this has anything to do with “defending the homeland”. Sure, we should have a defense budget, but nowhere close to $1T.

If you saw today's headline that Gallup will stop measuring presidential approval, they did the same thing in 2018. They do it whenever Trump is president.
