Hmm... Isn't it just the updated term for politically correct? It's the equivalent of, "You think you're smarter and better than everyone else." Which has always been a way to silence people who advocate for change. But I think those who use it like this would probably agree that it replaces "PC."

I might point out that it's a term appropriated from Black Americans who used it to mean awareness of prejudice and discrimination against them. But that might be seen as woke. 😆

I think "pencil crayons" is an Ontario thing. At least, that's what I called them when I lived there as a child. When I moved to Nova Scotia, kids thought that was funny.

I think Kierkegaard wrote something like this: we love ourselves aright when we love ourselves the way we love our neighbour when we love our neighbour as ourselves. As dizzying as it is to put it this way, I think it's surprisingly helpful in remembering how to love neighbour as well as self.
