Scott Pilgrim is mercilessly overhyped. Paul Robertson's sprite art is impeccable, but the games that use this artwork typically aren't worthy of it. And yeah, Double Dragon Advance is the peak of that series. It just FEELS like Double Dragon, unlike Neon or the recent rogue-like.

Good use of color in those four images. The NES doesn't exactly leave you with a lot of options, clustering its palette of sixteen background colors in groups of four.

There's exposition in the show which explains that cyborg bodies are expensive, but this dude's a shadowy government agent. He's got robot body money. He doesn't need to look like Meltman from Action League Now.

Just one example: I'm looking at a guy who looks like a Q-Tip shoved up Satan's flaming asshole. You've got all this burn damage to your gross, oblong face, you're OBVIOUSLY a cyborg, and yet you haven't picked a new body? It's the extreme version of a guy who keeps a cracked iPhone for "character."

People in Ghost in the Shell can be remarkably ugly for androids. Can't you pick a better shell than a sixty year old with a big gut and a face that could shatter concrete?

Pet peeve: Github pages which don't give you an executable. What the fuck? Why do I have to compile this myself? It's like they're giving you cake mix, minus eggs, water, oil, a whisk, and an oven.

Why would I want to play games on a V-Smile controller? Why not? I like the whimsical design. Looks like it was designed for a bear cub.

Speaking of which! I have a V-Smile controller, which I've been itching to convert to USB. Problem is, space inside the controller is very tight, and if you want to keep the swivel feature, you pretty much have to squeeze the circuit board into the corner of the unit.
