New #art, which I will eventually do a print run of. "a dirty transmission" is mostly acrylics and various inks on canvas, acrylics and screen printing ink on cold press board, and then a bunch of digital pixel pummeling to put it all together. #art #artshare

It is super annoying to acknowledge, OK as a species we've had basically instantaneous access to all documented human knowledge for 20 years now and yet our collective decision-making sucks ass.
But faster access to wronger information at a higher cost isn't the move.

It's a pretty big deal that the NYC Bar Association--one of the most prominent and respected bar associations in the country--is accusing the President of ordering the "unlawful summary execution," i.e. murder--of civilians in violation of US and international law. www.nycbar.org/press-releas...

📣 Germany's close to reversing its opposition to mass surveillance & private message scanning, & backing the Chat Control bill. This could end private comms-& Signal-in the EU.
Time's short and they're counting on obscurity: please let German politicians know how horrifying their reversal would be.

I’m telling you: ridicule works. These guys are supposed to intimidate the citizenry and it’s very hard to do that when a guy in a frog suit is just staring you down and daring you to do something that makes it look like you’re afraid of a cartoon

We have a small group of people in office who are fascists. If you'd like to preemptively declare them victorious, you're not really trying to save democracy. You just want to feel both virtuous and powerless at the same time.

I've met a few folks who buy into that, and they always, when pressed to explain it In any substantive way, devolve into a fairly incoherent kind of buzzword caterwauling. As someone who's worked in tech for a long time, I find it really frustrating.

Not quite. Accelerationism has been coined since at least the '90s and probably before, and has referred to both left and right wing (at least using conventional political definitions) movements.
As far as the OP, I was just unclear of IT in context, because it didn't seem obviously political to me

I saw this in the DA forums often enough, that I regularly wielded a ban hammer for particularly stupid threads where people wanted to create whole new crises out of sidebars that were themselves fairly incoherent.
I was often accused of being 'mean' for not tolerating endless stirring of turds.

I didn't even realize Singal was still a thing (either I thought he was blocked or I blocked him ages ago and hadn't heard a peep), so thank you for giving me something to grasp with because I found the whole comment stream utterly confounding.

A thing that has confounded me since Usenet, is that sidebar conversations stated in the open are often confounding to the broader community of people, and when they don't just magically know what it's about, and when seeking understanding, randos will just brow beat them, expecting them to "know"

I've read the comments so far, and I'm now so confused I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be angry by, except for the very fact that I can't figure out what to be angry for.
Like at its face it just seems to be "speed up decentralizing" off of major platforms; I can't figure out other subtexts.
