I have long gotten off Twitter and I have found Blue sky to be much nicer. That said I still think the environment is still so toxic out there that it leaks into every site. LinkedIn is unusable now for example. I will be off all sites for a while. Detox time. Solar and batteries will keep winning

That is an interesting real world experiment. That said, maybe some bias in the places you are going to?

The silence from Americans and in particular the people we expect to have checks and balances is the most damning part of this

They can't see anything except through the lens of politics. First it was that Trudeau was trying to use this to keep himself in power. Now it is the Liberals that are doing that. Of course , regardless, the blame for Trump doing this is on Trudeau's policies.

They can't get turbines until 2029, so this is performative. If you want power you need solar and batteries.

Finally someone else is saying this. You are either serious about AI or you are serious about nuclear ...and now natural gas given that turbines are backlogged until 2029.

Nice try. All of your posts are anti-renewables. I am pointing out to you that nuclear is not doing the job. If you really care about climate, it is about solar and batteries since they can be built at scale in months. We can't wait a decade+ for new nuclear capacity

Thx. There are few Canadians who don't have colleagues or good friends who are American. I have lived in, worked for and/or with Americans all my career. Have spent more time in CA than any other place except for Ontario. This is why the silence is concerning.Seems like tacit support for annexation

This is going to accelerate the adoption of solar and batteries to reduce dependence and expense associated with utilities

I think Canadians very much like what America is meant to be as well. We would like that to come back. Unlike Americans who don't think of Canada much we are forced to think of the USA. I'm interested but you seem to be one of the few people who is thinking about Canada. Why?

Canada is so furious at the US right now
Voxβs correspondent in Canada reports on the reaction to Trumpβs tariffs.
The average American doesn't, and doesn't need to think about Canada very often. Unfortunately the deafening silence from the average American on this issue is the most troubling part of it.

This was not a loss. He was too enamored with long shots like nuclear and carbon capture and dismissive of existing solutions like solar and batteries. He has been proved wrong and he didn't like it

Sure, that's what batteries are for. Just look at what's happening in California and Texas with respect to that. Europe will get there. Having more inflexible nuclear makes this situation worse not better.
