Last week was SOMETHING in lab:

- MITES (luckily caught early and contained)
- Freezer plug catches fire (risked life and limb to yank it out via cord, survived)
- Spilled my coffee all over my desk (keyboard sticky now)
- Someone used the LAST BOX of P2 tips and didn’t reorder (I crashed out).

When we lived in Tokyo, we had a 4th floor apt above the train and next to a highway, so sometimes there was an “earthquake” that was most likely either a big truck or the Keio New Line.

Earthquake-proofing is essentially “making the building wobble a bit.”

we need more friction everywhere. everyone is going insane without it. it’s a hard point to argue without coming off as boomerish because it’s adjacent to bad faith “safe space” discourse but in reality it’s the chuds so scared to see a brown person they never leave the house who need it back most

These days it seems like all the best Star Wars are the ones about the PEOPLE in the Star Wars universe. No space magic necessary.

Obviously Andor is colored by the current political moment. I also enjoyed the Bad Batch, which also doesn’t center on the Force.

wtf is wrong with SEA’s international arrival connections?

you enter the country in a lovely concourse then get shoved through the most pathetic single TSA line in the country? Is it better to just exit the airport and then enter through normal security again?
