It is ultimately very sad. There is a genuine radicalization happening in the craggy corners of the internet and our country has no appetite to limit gun ownership. One after another after another…

What’s terrifying is that the other school shooter that day was also an extremely-online young man. They may not have been personally connected, but they seem culturally connected. I’m hoping someone like AC Thompson reports on this. His frontline films on the radical alt-right are excellent.

Comparison to UFC is apt — both banana and UFC are privately held by one owner. Shohei Ohtani, one player in a huge, multi-owner league, brings in more revenue just in merchandise than UFC makes in a year or more. Banana ball is tiny and about spectacle. But whatever! There’s room for all of it.

She also frequently sees videos on social media of men approaching women on the street and recording them without permission using smart glasses. “All these girls are coming on [TikTok] saying, ‘I didn’t know that I was being posted. I didn’t know I was being recorded.’ And now there’s more and more tutorials showing people how to cover up the [warning light] and still allow you to record,” Nelson said.

They exist to violate and erode consent. Any other use is incidental.
