A brand new section of red cycle path on the North Tyneside coast, between Tynemouth and Cullercoats, barely more than 1.5 metres wide and with only paint for separation.

This is the newest section of our new “seafront sustainable route” (along the North Tyneside coast).

It barely meets LTN1/20 for width (it’s two-way) and there’s only paint separating it from the footpath (hence the pedestrian).

Very disappointing.

cycled it too in the last few days and it was really poor along there. kids on rollerskates, etc can share the section in Tynemouth with cyclists easily. It's not possible without causing conflict along there & puts the little ones at risk. really disappointing standard.
