Ahh Newlands?!
31.03.2025 08:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Labour will oppose any steps towards the private ownership or operation of core public services like our schools, hospitals, and prisons.
14.03.2025 01:11 β π 212 π 54 π¬ 18 π 8Yes Iβm at the summit and will make it very clear.
13.03.2025 20:53 β π 11 π 0 π¬ 4 π 0Thanks Joy. My speech tomorrow will be crystal clear on it!
13.03.2025 05:48 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We are not for the private build or operations of schools, hospitals and critical infrastructure.
13.03.2025 05:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Media was asked to change this. We already have private schools and private hospitals. That was what I was referring to
13.03.2025 05:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Just wait til they find out whatβs happening with the proposed tax charity rules and how it may impact their sports clubs, dance schools, body corp, credit unions if they bank with them, unions and their professional service fees for their jobs!
27.02.2025 06:04 β π 10 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Christopher Luxon has set the bar for ministerial conduct so low Ministers have to sack themselves. Andrew Bayly shouldβve been gone months ago. After finding out about the latest allegation on Wednesday, the PM waited days for him to resign when he shouldβve been sacked asap.
24.02.2025 01:56 β π 209 π 37 π¬ 13 π 5David Seymour wants to make it easier to sell our assets, hocking NZ off to the highest bidderβ¦and he wonders why I donβt agree with him. Investing in NZ is a privilege, letβs keep it that way!
24.02.2025 02:54 β π 101 π 24 π¬ 4 π 5Govt are getting excited about lower interest rates and publishing some truly misleading nonsense. My adjusted design is messy, but the numbers and text better reflect the reality. Couple more importants things on this subject... [𧡠1/3]
21.02.2025 20:54 β π 51 π 17 π¬ 4 π 3A few thoughts on the MPS today - it is painting a picture of a soggy economy for New Zealand. We have to actively choose something better. craigrenney.substack.com/p/banking-on...

Real men are comfortable enough in who they are to celebrate the diversity of others. Brian Tamaki you are just a boy.

29.01.2025 10:06 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This National/ACT government are working from the same old neoliberal playbook, defund public services, run them down, then use that as an excuse to privatize them. Itβs based on ideology and the people who pay the true price are everyday Kiwis.
28.01.2025 04:20 β π 208 π 42 π¬ 28 π 1Kiwis are delivering their verdict on this government with their feet - 125,000 gave up and left last year. Thatβs a person heading for the departure lounge every 4 minutes. The National/ACT agenda of slashing and privatizing will only drive more away.
28.01.2025 02:40 β π 108 π 21 π¬ 5 π 1Yes itβs tinkering to clarify that under the visitor visa rules you can work here π

Maintaining government investment in the building of social housing is a productive use of taxpayerβs money. Instead we get tax breaks for tobacco companies and interest deductibility reinstated for all landlordsβ¦not just the new builds.
19.12.2024 06:53 β π 48 π 12 π¬ 0 π 0NZβs economy wasnβt in recession before the election. In the past 6 months the economy has dropped faster than any time since 1991 (excluding COVID). This is what the politics of austerity does. Nicola Willis and Christopher Luxon are clearly making things worse not better!
19.12.2024 03:05 β π 283 π 67 π¬ 18 π 3Iβm no economist, but what I do recall from Economics 101 is that if the market is failing, then the Government should intervene. Bit like how the construction market is failing right now with 13,000 fewer roles and record net migration.
19.12.2024 05:44 β π 56 π 4 π¬ 4 π 0Itβs now clear that there is spare capacity in the economy, I wouldnβt be surprised if the RBNZ cut rates harderβ¦because itβs clear the Government wonβt be supporting through fiscal policy.
19.12.2024 05:43 β π 39 π 3 π¬ 2 π 0Instead she gave tax cuts which for most got gobbled up by interest rates. And for those who are on lower incomes who actually spend their money in the wider economyβ¦well they got $2.25 if they were a pensioner.
19.12.2024 05:41 β π 49 π 5 π¬ 2 π 1Instead of tax cuts, she should have kept the large government building of infrastructure, schools, hospitals and housing going. This keeps the construction sector going, which helps the manufacturing sector. This means more money in the economy through wages, salaries and the purchasing of goods
19.12.2024 05:40 β π 118 π 22 π¬ 6 π 0Nicola Willis needs to focus on getting results in the real world. The Government should be doing what it can to support and grow the economy, focus on creating jobs and opportunities, not slashing and burning.
19.12.2024 05:38 β π 48 π 5 π¬ 1 π 0After talking all year about growth and productivity, the figures show that this is not the case. We have more debt and nothing to show for it.
19.12.2024 05:37 β π 40 π 3 π¬ 1 π 0Thereβs no creative accounting that Nicola can do to make these GDP figures better. This amount of economic shrink in six months is a dire result.
A year on and we are in no better position. The economy has not grown, Kiwis are no better off, and even more are out of work.
