A manager for the Immigrant Defense Network told MPR News that back in November, 2,500 people were trained as constitutional observers. Now, the total is nearly 30,000 trained observers in 77 of Minnesota's 87 counties.

One has worked for CBP since 2018 and the other since 2014. These are not untrained new recruits.

Trump's border czar Tom Homan to visit MN Monday Homan's visit comes as Minnesotans navigate the deaths of two Minneapolis residents at the hands of federal officers in less than a month.

Even if you accept the BS idea that “both sides” need to de-escalate, it is hard to see sending Homan in as an effort by the Trump Administration to reduce tensions. (Contrast with Walz’s repeated calls for calm, deployment of law enforcement to rein in protests, etc.)

Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus, Gun Owners of America, and Second Amendment Foundation have all called for an investigation of the Pretti shooting. The NRA took a different tack, though.
