I’m the sole neurotypical in my house, and my wife converted me to team no-top-sheet before the kids were born. By now my mom, who was raised with Very Proper notions of how to make a bed, just mutters when we come to visit “and they don’t want the top sheet for some reason…”

I have a homeschooled sixth grader living in my house! Who does not follow a traditional curriculum for neurodivergence reasons! Guess what I am still not exploiting her labor for my profit!

Like the problems with this so-called “school” are myriad but let’s start with “twelve year olds shouldn’t choose having a job over school.”

I think work-integrated learning/experiential learning can be great (I’m academic coordinator for our school’s coop program). I also think having sixth graders work for someone else’s profit rather than focus on learning is a fucking human rights violation.

WHO is voting for the PCs? I recognize I live in a left/centre bubble but what on earth are people voting for with them?

Will I choose it over an Egg and cheese McMuffin in future? Probably sometimes, depending on my mood. The McMuffin’s macros are better, which may play a role.

I Tried The McVeggie So You Don’t Have To: I was surprised to see this on the McDonalds app when my teen wanted delivery today, so tried it out. Verdict: edible, I will probably order it again. Mixed veg patty rather than Beyond style, which I prefer. But I still like Harvey’s better (bc pickles).

I’m eating Yemeni food while watching Korean cooking competitions and feel slightly like a parody of myself. (Oat soup is one I’m gonna need to try to make myself.)

In fact, these stunts (this is re: Kat Abughazaleh getting arrested, but also applies to Lander, etc) signal that these candidates are willing to take action on issues voters care about, even before being elected…which suggests they will take action when elected. It’s savvy campaigning!
