Small collection of Gaza related graffiti in Rome. There’s also been a demonstration and/or general strike every day, which as a tourist is annoying (so hard to get a darn cab) but as someone who studies social movements is impressive as hell.

I just got a β€œwould you like to join eduroam?” while stopped in traffic on a random street in Rome.

I’ve been in France six-ish hours and so far I’ve worked in a hipster cafe, bought grapes and cheese at an outdoor market, gotten a manicure, and eaten the weirdest vegan poke bowl of my life. Currently on my third-or-fourth coffee of the day. This trip is starting off pretty well.

Safety and Medical Treatment for Fadi and Afnan My name is Emily, and I'm a professor in Canada. I'm running this campaign for Fadi, shown here with his nephew, and his wife Afnan. Originally from Gaza City, Fadi and Afnan are displaced in Khan You...

I just sent a campaign update for Fadi, my friend in Gaza. Thanks to your donations, he was able to get a new tent for his family after their old one was destroyed and they were displaced. If you are able to donate, that would be wonderful!

A fluffy grey and white cat holds her paws awkwardly together, belly up, on a couch Next to her is a sticker saying β€œprotect trans youth” with a big Canada goose aggressively waving its wings in front of some pink blue and white chicks.

I am planning some multi-stop work travel and was contemplating adding a (much desired, very fun) stop when a friend asked me "are you planning this trip for the body you have now or the body you had 20 years ago" and WOW I JUST CAME OUT TO HAVE A GOOD TIME AND I'M FEELING SO ATTACKED RIGHT NOW

I’m the sole neurotypical in my house, and my wife converted me to team no-top-sheet before the kids were born. By now my mom, who was raised with Very Proper notions of how to make a bed, just mutters when we come to visit β€œand they don’t want the top sheet for some reason…”

I have a homeschooled sixth grader living in my house! Who does not follow a traditional curriculum for neurodivergence reasons! Guess what I am still not exploiting her labor for my profit!

I think work-integrated learning/experiential learning can be great (I’m academic coordinator for our school’s coop program). I also think having sixth graders work for someone else’s profit rather than focus on learning is a fucking human rights violation.

If you see this skeet, you have to name a trans book more people should read.

This is convenient - I just finished Notes from a Regicide by Isaac Fellman last night, and it’s a banger, about art and revolution and mental illness and embodiment.

You guys, so many Romance girlies are reading "On Tyranny" that they've broken the Goodreads recommendations algorithm. 10/10; no notes.

Will I choose it over an Egg and cheese McMuffin in future? Probably sometimes, depending on my mood. The McMuffin’s macros are better, which may play a role.

I Tried The McVeggie So You Don’t Have To: I was surprised to see this on the McDonalds app when my teen wanted delivery today, so tried it out. Verdict: edible, I will probably order it again. Mixed veg patty rather than Beyond style, which I prefer. But I still like Harvey’s better (bc pickles).

In fact, these stunts (this is re: Kat Abughazaleh getting arrested, but also applies to Lander, etc) signal that these candidates are willing to take action on issues voters care about, even before being elected…which suggests they will take action when elected. It’s savvy campaigning!
