Personally, I'm a (dual) Swedish citizen and have spent a fair amount of time there and the notion that most Swedes are lefties that you'd find amenable, to the point that they'd consider Bernie to be a centrist and mainstream Democrats would be considered right-wing is not accurate.

If all you mean is that anyone except for the 95th percentile most left-wing is either right-wing or a centrist, then this is not a very useful distinction.

What does the Overton window have to do with that then? You claimed it moved the perceived center in the US, as opposed to countries like Sweden, yet now you're saying that the parties traditionally considered on the left there aren't actually on the left either.

The Moderate Party is the center-most party in Sweden. So Bernie, AOC and Zohran would be members of the Moderate Party? Not the Social Democrats? The Left Party was in coalition with them as well, and doesn't oppose capitalism either.

Leftists absolutely weren't calling out Bernie on this in 2016/2020, despite him having a long history of being anti-immigration in this way.
