The winter darkness continues…

Where would you recommend we send funds to help this, and other, animal welfare groups in Ukraine?

Your interpretation is valid, and could very well be a defining summary. Thank you for sharing.

Thereβ€˜s a great line from The Hunt for Red October -

"You arrogant ass. You've killed us!"
Engineer Bonovia to Captain Tupolev

It may hold true for the Russian Bear.

I agree with this. They believe they are winning until their last breath...

In isolation, that trait could almost be considered honourable. But in the global community, it is only a tragedy.

You can grow old believing you are right, but you most likely will die alone.

Fluffy felines! I think you told us once that one is named Sour Cream… what’s the other’s name?

I live with two black, bonded sisters - Jackie & Shadow, the house panthers. We can never decide who is really heating who, but the closeness is everything 😊

First All-Female Search and Rescue Team Crews a Cormorant - Gripped Magazine History was made by Katerine Hanak and Ashley Barker

Awesome to see!

A few years ago, the CAF's SAR Program had two female SARTechs crew together:

I'm beginning to wonder if this is less about 'punishing' other nations, and more about beating his own people into a horrific corner of poverty. Add the heavy hand of ICE, and voilΓ , a subservient & obedient voter base.

'Tis effed up, I say 🀦...

And this is the theory I lull myself to sleep with when I see a bit of resistance from within the voter base, but really the pushback is tepid to lukewarm, and largely ineffective.

The lack of constructive criticism & defence of the voter base by the Dems is sad... and foresees what is to come πŸ˜”

One of the hardest things I continually fail to accept about our Southern cousin, is that consistently they act as a collection of like minded individuals, vs a community who has the confidence to accept & respect those who are different then they are.

Exactly, Ms Γ…lander. Using the word 'Trump' misses the point that this is an attitude & an action supported by many voters, and executed by an executive that has a blueprint (P25's Mandate For Leadership & the recent NSS) that simply is a belief that might is right.

There have also been rumours that during the annual Red Flag exercise out of Nellis, CDNs did extremely well - so much so that the host nation started to find ways to award their own people Top Gun (or like) awards, just to keep morale up.

Yep. Could you imagine if it was that other guy, the janitor (I think) who won the election? I'm not a fan of the LPC, but this is OK with me.

Clothing: avoid the cottons, if possible, for sleep layers. They will hold moisture against you, which will take vital energy to warm. The polyesters & wool under cloths will dry with air movement alone; sometimes all they need is a bit of wind. Ideally, always sleep in dry items.

As someone who works in cold temps as a ski guide, this is solid advice. I would also add keeping a thermos full of hot tea with lemon juice & honey/sugar to make it like lemonade. When the heat is off, have small amounts (125ml) every 30min to keep energy up.

And I think it is okay to be scared, or anxious, to feel unusual emotions.

This is all normal.

Surgery is weird shit that in the end helps the vast majority of us who endure it.

Even very slight things, like brushing one's hair, or petting a fav animal, can do wonders.

Good luck & remember many have gone through surgery. Reach out & connect with them, if you can.

You & your body are now recoverying from a literally invasive procedure that will re-arrange things inside of you, so there is going to discomfort & disbelief at what is happening.

Regaining regular, even small, routine, will help you build resilience to what you will be experiencing.

Second - as soon as you are able, start to do all the little activities that you would normally do in pre operation life.

This could be a regular phone call, a walk around the room, simple stretches (which can be done lying down in bed), reading, fav music & TV show, etc.

See if the recovery team can give you a personal item that will help you regain your awareness; a picture, brief visit from a friend, stuffie, blankie - whatever brings you comfort & stability/security.

First, coming out of deep anesthesia (probably the coma 3 thing the Dr noted) is going to be weird. Something you have never felt before, but is all a normal process as the body removes the drugs that took you down there.

The kidneys will be working!

This. The indigenous (all of πŸ‡©πŸ‡°!) definitely have an opinion on Yankee imperialism.

Methinks that US SOF might find things very different than what they encountered with the People's Republic of Pineland, where the majority speak English.

How's your Northern language skills, Mr BoomBoom?
