the anarchist you know defending Chomsky right now despite all we know about Chomsky’s ties to Epstein is telling you he absolutely will do the same for his domestic abuser buddy at the distro or the radical bookshop owner who sexually harasses employees or the FNB organizer who rapes volunteers…

Backing up The Argument in NYT/Siena, Gen X still has an astonishing 49% approval for Trump (!), while Boomers have dipped to 42%.

Gen X is currently tracking at 12 pts to the right of the electorate on the generic ballot. Now 9 pts to the right of Boomers, which has to be the largest gap ever.

Charlie Kirk spent his lifeβ€˜s work and all of his energy and time targeting out-groups while arguing for a world in which gun massacres would be easy to enact, plentiful, and inevitable, and he became famous and wealthy doing it, and we’re now not supposed to mention that because it’s not polite.

We simply cannot live in a country where the death of hate mongers is a tragedy and the death of everyone else only warrants a shrug.

In a fascist country, violence is a tragedy to be blamed on their political enemies when fascists say it is, and it's an isolated but unpreventable tragedy that must never be politicized when they say so, and it's no big deal when they say so, and it's righteous self-defense when they say so.

They haven't found a scapegoat yet to take the fall like they did with Luigi but you can bet it's coming. I would be unsurprised if the regime set this in motion for their own agenda.

The reality is Ch*rlie K*rk advocated violence for others and reaped what he sowed.

At the same time, he was hit in the neck from 200 yards and the shooter is still at large, which indicates a pro. Sus.

Reminder...

Some entities will be putting their flags at half mast to commemorate/remember the victims of 9/11.

Do not let anyone co-opt that / let you think they are alllll in honor of some rando.

What Danielle said.

According to the Yale Budget Lab, the average effective tariff rate in this economy right now is 18.2%

Let me put that another way.

President Trump has raised taxes on American businesses and consumers by -- on average -- 18.2%

One of the organizers, Steven Tin, the director of Better Chinatown USA, which hosts the Lunar New Year parades in Manhattan's Chinatown, was seen by The Times holding $50 bills and handing out red envelopes to reporters from Chinese-language news organizations.

Five days after the event in Queens, Chinese American community leaders held a rally at Confucius Plaza in Chinatown in Manhattan, where Times reporters again witnessed red envelopes being distributed. Then, on July 27, Times reporters saw more envelopes being passed out at the Sunset Park rally.
Robin Mui, the chief executive of the Sing Tao U.S. newspaper, was among the organizers of the Manhattan rally. Mr. Mui made at least one trip, in 2014, to China with Mr. Adams and Ms. Greco.

Let’s hope the NYT public editor looks into why Times reporters witnessed multiple instances of cash being handed out at the mayor’s events but didn’t write it up til they got beaten on the story by a feisty nonprofit site ….

Apologies …

We are being told the Times no longer has a public editor.

My brother just stopped by to help with a computer issue and left me a Meshtastic device to play around with.

If SHTF and Internet/cell service gets wiped out (either through infrastructure collapse or intentional targeting) we can still communicate via mesh network.

🧡Confirmation via a friend: Starbucks will forbid employees from masking without a medical note.

Giant US-based MAGAcorp known for union-busting, actively preventing workers from protecting themselves and the public from known workplace health hazards?

Chasten and I are relieved that Governor Shapiro and his family are safe. While we wait to learn more, this much is clear: the targeting of a public official and his family - especially a prominent Jewish official on a major Jewish holiday - is unconscionable and has no place in our country.

β€œAbundance” Is How Dems Lose To Trump Ezra Klein’s new book is supercharging elites’ campaign to deter Democrats from challenging billionaires and corporate power.

Abundanceβ„’ aims to kill the antitrust movement & deter Dems from challenging oligarchy.

It wrongly pretends corporate power isnt the creator of scarcity.

Its political theory was tried in 2024 & was defeated by Trump.

Being a billionaire in the United States feels basically identical whether you have $10B or $100B, but feels very different if you can sexually harass your au pair and she can quit and get a different job vs if she is desperate to keep her job and has to put up with it because the economy is shit.
