Stay safe in the heatwave. Go somewhere cool if you can, and hydrate. This level of heat kills if you don’t respect it.
Never send to know for whom the bell tolls?

Second place for me would be Murder Must Advertise.
May i start by saying my skills do not extend to assessing the persuasiveness of these studies at all.
Here’s an old one claiming the connection: australianprescriber.tg.org.au/articles/cal...
And a recent one that is cautious, but still urges conservatism: www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...
iirc there have been some studies (I don’t know how persuasive) that link calcium supplementation with increased risk of heart disease - but not increased calcium consumption from food. A relative’s doctor was sufficiently concerned to take them off supplements.

So yes. Very much a Dr Who episode waiting to happen.
Loved Usman’s answer when asked if he was in Zaman’s ear in the last over - I’m the only one who can talk to him, he doesn’t speak English. We talk in Urdu - all said in the broadest Australian accent possible.

Have done this forever. Absolutely the best idea.
It used to be even better when the ABC radio commentary was immediate, but the television had the 7 second delay. One could read a book, subconsciously note any rising excitement in the commentary, and look up in time to see the action.
😂🤣😂
Let’s hope it’s a champion either way! 🥇
Acronym for “Greatest Of All Time” as I recall.
Whether that refers to you or the year, I leave up to you!
The introduction to the sequel, where Pile describes being voted out as club president because of the success of the first book, is also delightful.
“Even as failures, we failed.”
I expect that was Christchurch Cathedral (AoNZ) after the 2011 earthquake. Not sure about hard hats, but I recall photos of clergy with plenty of rubble in the background.

It gets me to work and back (12k each way) ~3 times/wk with minimal issues.

I still remember being blown away by my first reading of The Nine Tailors at age 13. I’d read a lot of Christie before then, but Sayers showed me what a murder mystery could be.
I think it was Dorothy L Sayers who said that she preferred writing books about real people and messy feelings, rather than a classic puzzle story.
