He is not, finish reading. Admits DHS will likely not be split from minibus, and re-affirms he will never vote to shut down the government.

He’s REMOVING pressure from GOP by saying this - would have been more helpful to say nothing about minibus at all.

Dems have almost no leverage. Every ounce of pressure needs to land on GOP.

Announcing in advance that you’ll support more DHS funding to avoid a shutdown (as Fetterman did today) is an incredible way to remove pressure from senate GOP!

One thing I hope people take the time to acknowledge: The sea change in public opinion has been achieved because violence, though encourage by a lot of people here online, was never once employed by the movement. Violence was solely the purview of the state and that is why the state is losing.

We have to learn to read. He’s announcing to GOP that when they DO NOT split DHS funding from minibus, he will vote YES on whole package to avoid a shutdown.

His support for splitting DHS $$ doesn’t matter if there is no GOP support. Which there will not be if they know they can count on his vote!

To win elections, win the visual. Doesn’t matter if the church-goers “deserve” it (they probably do!). All that matters is the camera footage that now confirms the stupid endless fantasies of persecution that delude millions of church-going GOP voters - many of whom were starting to reconsider.

All we can do is pressure him now and primary him later. Mostly the latter - seems immune to constituent and even donor pressure.

PA resident here - you’re right in principle, and he’s not a plant - he has a long democratic record he ran on. Problem is he’s not the same person since his accident - literally, not metaphorically. Senator Fetterman is a different human than Mayor / Candidate Fetterman.

Thank you, that is hugely important. Equally important is blocking bill provisions to militarize ICE and sell off public lands.
