Last day of school holidays today. So looking forward to some peace and quiet to write tomorrow.

Totally becomes invisible for me. I use Tick Tick to schedule recurring tasks, and then literally handwrite out my list again in a planner again every day to make the tasks visible to my brain again each day. Manage to remember things most of the time this way.

I have now officially been earwormed.

So thankful for writer friends who put up with my constant crises about my process and what I hate about it today.

Can't bring myself to do more than skim the Gaiman article. I think the thing that guts me the most is that this kind of shit is happening all the time and people get away with it *all the time*.

Goddamn, trying to write with kids home on the school holidays is *hard*. I am tempted not to even try, but I am even more loathe to lose all of those weeks of the year.

I am in that void where I've finished* a project and feel like I might never write again and I hate it.

*Where finished = an intended novella length sequel to Icefall that has become a 165k behemoth that I think might become two books of a trilogy. Sigh.

I never thought audiobooks worked for me, but figuring out that I needed to listen at 2x speed has been the best thing ever. I listen while cleaning and gardening and have doubled the number of books I can consume. They're the best.

I first read that as "lying down and screaming" has been surprisingly useful and I was all "you know, given the current state of the world, it fits"
