@yrfatfriend.bsky.social omg look at this! Your book made it into Tiny Bookshop as a book you can recommend to customers! Did you know they were going to include it?

I'm about halfway through loading it up with Owl City's entire discography (got to have some suitably nostalgic music on there) and omg I forgot how tortured YouTube to MP3 converters are πŸ˜‚

A pale person in a stonewashed(?) style black crew neck t-shirt. The shot is a close up so all that can be seen is their neck and t-shirt, with a bright green Apple iPod 4th generation Shuffle (a small, square MP3 player that clips onto your shirt or similar) clipped to the neckline with an earphone cable.

2010 called and wants its iPod back πŸ˜…. I ordered an unopened 4th gen Shuffle on a whim via eBay and omg! It works! And, despite being free-buds, the earbuds are surprisingly non-crappy! Now I can listen to music without streaming it in a terrible signal area. Let's hope the battery life is good.

A complete mitten-in-progress knit in white wool as the base colour and semi-solid black/charcoal grey wool as the contrast colour.

The wrist from the bottom up: a small section of 1x1 rib, then a Latvian braid (a knitting technique that carries the yarn in front and twists it around itself to create horizontal "braids" in your knitting), a colourwork section made up of squares with white centres in the middle of diamonds created by a large crosshatch pattern, then another Latvian braid.

The body from the wrist up: a geometric pattern made up of solid black and white alternating vertical half-diamonds with diamonds between them made up of alternating black and white stitches.

It appears the Boyfriend Mittens are safe from becoming Girlfriend Mittens. They fit him OK and blocking will improve the fit. But he would prefer mittens with a fold down top, so now I need to figure that out. 🧢

Only the thumb remains. I tried it on since my boyfriend's hands are almost the same size mine (just slightly longer) and I'm worried it's too short. Only knitting the thumb and blocking will say for sure πŸ˜“ 🧢

I've knit most of the first Boyfriend Mitten. I love how the pattern is coming together and the gentle variation in the grey yarn. I think these will turn out great. 🧢

I began my boyfriend's gift-knit. I combined three mitten patterns to create a new pattern:
- Evja for the cuff
- Kvello for the palm
- Shine Mittens for the front
Hopefully he likes them! 🧢

A large sky blue tote bag with a long strap propped up on a chair in my local Gail's. All the text looks handwritten, but in slightly different fonts. At the top, in red it says β€œ20 years". Below that, on a banner with two lovehearts pierced by arrows and held up by a swallow at each side, it says "of Loop Joy". Below that are the words "Textile Heaven". Below that is a large black, stylised rabbit. Below the rabbit in red block capitals it says "London", then below that "Knitting * Crochet * Embroidery".

Four skeins of yarn laid out on a white table with brown speckles. Two left two skeins are off-white with a brown label saying "Madelinetosh hand dyed yarns" in a circle around a black triangle. The right two skeins are longer and thinner, and are semi-solid black, like a yarn version of faded black jeans. These yarns have a white label with a drawing of a sheep's head in a circle of flowers and foliage, with a pink loveheart and the words "la Bien AimΓ©e Paris, France" underneath.

Next to that is a selection of mini skeins of various sizes: a deep forest green one from The Uncommon Thread (colourway: undergrowth), then a deep magenta one from Madelinetosh (colourway: one of a kind (?)), an Alpaca Rose set from The Border Mill (colourway name unknown, dyed specially for the Loop 20th anniversary), a variegated mini ball from Opal, and a black mini ball of Ricorumi. Next to the mini skeins are a selection of notions and other little goodies: a Loop London badge, a la Bien AimΓ©e badge featuring the sheep head from their logo, another la Bien AimΓ©e badge with some text (glare from the lighting has obscured it), a packet of darning needles, a small sachet of Soak gentle laundry soap in the yuzu scent, a pack of knitting note cards designed for la Bien AimΓ©e, and a pattern booklet for (I believe) some children's knits. The booklet is called Plump by Mrs Moon (a yarn brand) and features a toddler wearing a mustard yellow cardigan with some peach and white details.

As I arrived from London the heavens suddenly opened, so I took shelter in Gail's. Of course, I rummaged through my goodie bag. The black and white yarn I bought and the third photo is all the goodies. A very generous bag!

Oh no! My knitting bag got wet and the dye from the purple yarn ran 😭

@dyedinthewoolyarns.bsky.social do you have any tips for safely removing it and stopping the dye running further? I'm using Purple Haze.

A comic of two foxes, one of whom is blue, the other is green. In this one, Blue and Green are sitting, facing each other, looking exhausted.
Green: It's too hot to cook dinner.
Blue: Can you go get me a bag of frozen veggies?

Green looks on, curious, as Blue places the frozen bag on top of his head.

Green's curiosity turns to surprise as Blue, meditates all of his excessive body heat to concentrate on his head, and the bag of frozen vegetables begins to glow faintly, and hissing softly as it melts and begins to steam.

Green watches, now calm but speechless, as Blue ceases glowing.
Blue: We are having steamed peas for dinner.

The completed front of a mitten knit in white wool as the base colour and variegated purple-magenta wool as the contrast colour. The pattern on the wrist is three rows of purple diamonds, with a slightly larger middle row that has white crosses in the middle of the diamonds. Above the wrist is a Latvian braid, a knitting technique that produces a raised, horizontal stripe in alternating colours (it looks similar to a fishtail hair braid). The main body of the mitten is made up of several large diagonally-oriented squares pieced together with eight-pointed stars or snowflakes (I'm not quite sure which they're supposed to be) inside.

The main body of the mitten is made up of a repeating pattern of diamonds with white centres with single contrast-colour stitches between them. The thumb has a vertical line of larger diamonds with white crosses in the centre.

I've finished the right-hand mitten! I love how the bold colours look with a classic design. The front pattern reminds me of ceramic tiles so now I need to find a pretty old-china-blue tonal yarn to reknit them in. 🧢

The main body of the mitten is made up of several large diagonally-oriented squares pieced together with eight-pointed stars or snowflakes (I'm not quite sure which they're supposed to be) inside.

I've almost finished the right hand mitten. I'm glad I had some Purple Haze left; I think it looks great with this pattern, especially the palm. 🧢

It's been a while since I picked up my needles. I began another pair of mittens, West Of The Moon by Inger Berg. I added a Latvian braid at the wrist. I'm using Purple Haze by Dyed In The Wool again. 🧢

Hiya, does the art need to be Mari Lwyd related? Or can we just make something cool and submit it? Also, are there any restrictions on the medium (beyond it needs to be reasonably transportable to the buyer, non-hazardous, etc.)?

Two pale hands next to each other. Both have a small anchor ink-stamp stamped on them. The anchor is in the centre of the upper hand and is closer to the wrist and is smudged on the lower hand (my hand).

@canalcryptid.bsky.social and I went to see @theameliaproject.bsky.social live at the Theatreship this evening. It was a wonderful show and I loved the Theatreship as a venue. Great work everyone!

A lime hawk moth (a large brown and green moth) sitting in my friend's palm facing towards his wrist as he holds it up to the camera. The moth is slightly blurry because it's vibrating its wings to dry them. The towpath and a little bit of the canal can be seen in the background.

I was learning to fish a couple of days ago and this lime hawk moth fell in the canal, so I carefully fished it out on the end of my rod. The photos are slightly blurry since it was vibrating its wings to dry off. What a cutie.

Carter had a good roll around as I tried to go out yesterday. I'm not sure if he lacked the cell and his brain was making dial up noises, or if he'd temporarily borrowed it and was trying to guilt trip me. Cute, either way. 🐱

Two cocktails on a small, dark wooden table, both in wine glasses. The left cocktail is deep red in the bottom third of the glass and the rest is filled with a pale pink clear drink, with half a strawberry stuck on the rim. This is a peach blush spritz: rosΓ© wine, peach schnapps, lemonade. The right cocktail is bright, slight cloudy yellow in the bottom half, topped up with clear, very pale yellow fizzy drink with a couple of lemon slices stuck in the top of the drink. This is a limoncello spritz: limoncello, prosecco, soda water.

I went to the local spoons since Wendy's was closed due to an incident, and my boyfriend ordered a couple of spritz cocktails to my table. Peach blush spritz and limoncello spritz. He's such a sweetheart πŸ’–
