Today, government introduced Bill 9 legislation invoking the notwithstanding clause to override a court ruling that protects youth access to gender-affirming care. This places government between a patient and their physician, undermining clinical autonomy. www.albertadoctors.org/news/publica...

I’d like to believe this but the polls say otherwise. I follow Nate Silver’s poll info hoping to see Trump’s favourability totally tank but it doesn’t. It not super great either but I’m still surprised it’s not on a sharp decline.

No One Can Fully Know the Mind of Danielle Smith There’s a lot of rhetoric being spewed in social media calling Danielle Smith “stupid,” but let’s set the record straight: she is far from it.

“What’s more worrying is her disregard for the broad consensus of Albertans in favour of the amplified voices of a populist, alt-right minority whose vision has little to do with our shared values” #abpoli

There were parts that caused me pause, for sure. But after reading so many conservative arguments for this policy, I do like how the writer appears to try to appeal to that base. There are people, sadly, who don't care about trans girls, but their daughters – they (maybe) start paying attention.

Because you start with scapegoating international students - and you end up here, with people at a government rally in Lloydminster baying for the mass deportation of new Canadians. Let’s stop being mealy-mouthed. This is disgusting. It’s unCanadian. It’s unAlbertan. It’s unacceptable. #AlbertaNext
