When you publish a website that posts the names and photos of scholars who have written or said things you disagree with and encourage people to surveil and harass them, you are not, in fact, a “free speech” organization.

I'm horrified by the shooting of Charlie Kirk at a college event in Utah.

Political violence has no place in our country.

There’s a way to be respectful in reporting on Charlie Kirk being shot while also refusing to whitewash who he was and what consequences his political activism has had. Obituaries for public figures are a part of history.

Amazing how those democratic lawmakers who were hunted down in their homes in the middle of the night in Minnesota weren’t a watershed moment of political violence, huh?

Political violence is never acceptable and must be rejected and condemned. My deepest condolences to Charlie Kirk’s wife and young children. 🙏

Wild to watch the regime's response to Charlie Kirk getting shot vs. its collective response that one time when 2 Minnesota lawmakers got shot and one of them died.

Saying “that’s not who we are” can be earnestly aspirational (a call to conscience), even if it isn’t empirically or historically true.
