If it’s helpful, Stephen Harper’s spokesperson categorically denied that the “Harper & Associates” in the files is the former prime minister’s company to me on Tuesday morning.

the overwhelming lesson of this century is: get nukes. as many as possible. It is the only way to protect your sovereignty.

Every news story is now “State Senator Randy Pervert (R-Springfield) was indicted on 8 counts of lewd behavior with a child under 12 and has been put on paid leave from his two jobs as Border Patrol liaison and youth pastor at First Presbyterian (PCA) where parishioners say they were ‘blindsided.’”

So Portland bans the carrying of firearms in City Hall. Then a peaceful protest spooks one councilor and now they're advocating to allow JUST councilors to open carry, even though the main advocate for this rule admits they don't know how to use a gun and just want it on their body as a totem.

Next police budget should at minimum be cut by this amount. Year after year WRPS received rubber stamped budget increases with very little pushback from politicians. This is what happens when cops think they can do whatever they want and take as much money as they want from tax payers.

Interesting to see some of the Mayor's critiques (all valid, in my opinion) of the WRPS lately. While Vrbanovic would still no doubt consider himself a big supporter of the police, he clearly has concerns about their approach to some things recently. www.therecord.com/news/council...

Just got my Public Lending Right money from Canada Council. And for the firs time ever, it's pretty good money ($1500). This is thanks to you taking my books out at the library. Keep doing it! And do it for your favourite authors! Even if you don't read the books!!

Text: Police Association of Ontario’s Statement on the Inspector General of Policing Province-Wide Inspection on Police Integrity and Anti-Corruption Practices
Ontario’s Inspector General of Policing, Ryan Teschner, announced an independent province-wide inspection into the ability of Ontario's police services and boards to prevent, detect, respond to, and fortify their organizations against corruption and to ensure integrity.
There is no evidence of widespread police corruption across Ontario. Our members are dedicated, hard-working professionals who serve their communities with pride and professionalism every day. We fully support our members throughout the province and recognize the importance of independent, transparent oversight. We are committed to reviewing all recommendations upon completion of the inspection.
To paint all our members with the same brush is not fair to the thousands who come to work every day to ensure the safety and security of our communities. Throughout this process, we stand united with our 33,000 members across Ontario.

I wouldn't expect anything other than this from the PAO but, could you at a bare minimum state that when there is evidence of corruption, everyone, including all these hard-working members mentioned, benefits when steps are taken to address it? www.facebook.com/PoliceAssoci...

"It happened with Muslim Americans after 9/11, for example. It's happened with young Black men for decades, and now it seems to be happening with transgender people as well," he said.
"The perceived pattern is speaking more to the politics of the moment than to any actual causal relationship."

All of my group chats are responding to Homan’s announcement by asking everyone to double down because:

1. ICE is still out there and abducting people today. We can’t trust the occupation is over until we actually see it.

2. People are going to be in an economic crisis for a very long time.

Tumbler Ridge is mourning a horrific loss. But how the shooter's identity is being talked about online, and the dangerous links being made to trans people at large, will have resounding and dangerous impacts in the months and weeks to come.

Thousands may have been exposed to measles at Brandon Ag Days event, province warns | CBC News Thousands of people who attended what's touted as Canada's largest indoor farm show this year may have been exposed to measles, Manitoba public health officials warn.

Manitoba's Ag Days event potentially exposed 1000s to measles. I guess Saskatchewan would just be following the pattern if they have a massive foodborne illness outbreak due to raw milk.

the actual Republican parents who support the politicians pushing for this think the effort and money they spent parenting are wasted if their kids turn out different from them.

You eliminate that possibility by eliminating the public existence of other kinds of people.
