I think the name could convey that this is a fantasy and not about real-world colonization, which I guessed but was not sure of until I read the hashtag bc the character’s name could go either way

This sounds really intriguing though! Good luck!

If you have, like, an empire with a fantasy name I think I’d put that here to establish the setting. But this definitely hooked me, good luck!

Who is her wife and what makes her special? But this sounds great, the transition from mundane relatable angst to cosmic world-saving stakes is really fun!

Basically what Lindsay said, I think the structure of this is really strong but don't know what "flatbrained shadow" means. Is it like the nuclear shadows of Hiroshima victims? If so 1) that took me a minute and 2) I think that's way too grim to evoke here
