I’m using Pro Writing Aid for my self editing (don’t worry, my living, breathing editor is scheduled) & I am finding it useful for some things.

Replacement dialogue, not so much. Dialogue is not its strong point. I’m convinced it was trained on Jane Austen & the Brontë sisters. #3 is my fave.

We’re upgrading my kid’s phone & it’s been aaallllmmmmost done for the last 5 minutes. She is learning time has no meaning when it comes to phone updates.

The YA publishing crisis isn’t that we need more mature YA books or a Mature YA label, it’s that we need more YA books published for teens of all ages and less YA books published as YA but also wanting to reach Adult audiences. Adults have plenty of books published for them.

It is a special kind of feeling listening to Black women talk about all the ways we have to change our procedures & contracts because DEI is now banned. Rage doesn’t even begin to cover it. Bless them for their poise & grace. They’re better women than me.
