In the photo it is about at it’s highest 🫣 11.3° according to my app.

That looks great! I have so far had two attempts at this target, but I am not satisfied yet. Need to find a spot where there is no light dome in that exact direction.

Last week I attempted WR134 in Cygnus. It couldn’t fit in my FOV without doing mosaics at f/10. An initial test stack got me to this. 4 panels as is painfully clear from all challenges I got to endure.

Need to play with my data a bit more, but I am thoroughly impressed with the new @siril.org and its ability to stack and stitch mosaics.

Editing my data of M51, I tried pushing it to the extremes. I still think it is awesome to see so much resemblance between my @celestronuniverse.bsky.social backyard image and that of @stsci.edu #HST Hubble Space Telescope.

Still need to look into extracting Ha from my L-eXtreme data and subtracting continuum from it. I think that last part will allow me to add it more naturally to my OSC data.

I think it looks great already! I still have to complete my processing. Struggling with adding Ha to the data…

For this one it came out to be 368.6 ± 0.7 light-years

Great. Using the parallax value (8.3202 mas) I could calculate the distance to be 392 light-years. The error (0.1113 mas) gave an error margin of +/- 5 light-years.

The other star I cannot identify. Using Aladin, the closest match seems to be [HL2008] 79870, which is catalogued as a cluster of stars. That can't be the object I see moving, can it? simbad.u-strasbg.fr/simbad/sim-i...

How should I find details like the distance of these stars?

I would like to know the distance, but so far I've only come across another website, mentioning it to be 370ly distant (www.armandpien.be/post/draaiko...)
