Why? To turn our homes into temporary accommodation for those ‘in most urgent need.’

The issue? That’s exactly who WE will become IF evicted.

This Labour council set up a 'private' company, Homes for Lambeth, to pose as a 'private' landlord. It is now using Section 21 notices, soon-to-be abolished by the current Labour (!) government, to displace multiple families and vulnerable tenants from five different Lambeth estates.

Meanwhile, HfL Tenants continue to be threatened with 'no fault' evictions from Labour Lambeth Council.

If evicted, the affected tenants will end up homeless, and it will be Lambeth Council's responsibility to rehouse them.

Two weeks have now passed since the State of London Debate. After being asked about it by @lbc.co.uk’s @mrjamesob.bsky.social, the Mayor of London committed to follow up on our case immediately. We’ve reached out to him and are still awaiting a reply. The ball’s now in Sadiq’s court.

In tomorrow’s oral hearing, a judge will decide whether our claim for judicial review will proceed to a full hearing. No matter the outcome, Lambeth Council continues to be our de facto landlord.

📣 At 3:30pm, we’ll hold a protest centring the prevalence of empty homes. In England, there are 33,000+ homes that are owned AND kept empty by local councils. There are 50+ empty homes at Central Hill Estate alone! Why are these homes being kept empty in the middle of a housing crisis?!
