Concert review: Brandi Carlile proclaims her love for Minnesotans at joyous Target Center show A live video stream of the concert raised a half million dollars for a local legal aid nonprofit.

Brandi Carlile was magical tonight at Target Center. She talked about how much she loves Minnesotans and I believe her.

My review of the joyous show (gift link):

My office is in the Blair Arcade, and while I was working from home today, I just keep thinking about how often I jaywalk across that street to pick up lunch and how easily I would have been hit by those speeding cars.

Anyways, I’m the delegate. Chuffed that my speech was decent enough.

My caucus had 4 people interested in being our 1 delegate or 1 alternate for Hennepin County. We each made a short speech. Two took themselves out of consideration and the third said he would be happy being the alternate. The relief of our chair that it resolved itself was adorably dramatic.

Putting together an annual report and preparing a summer Shakespeare show announcement is really weird right now.

I ordered a bunch of toys and treats from Chewy when leaving town for my cat sitters to open. They didn’t, so I now get to enjoy the unboxing. In true cat fashion, the box is a feature.

I’ll be there, and I’m working on getting some others in my sphere to go, too.

From a phone call I recently received, I can tell you that you that Bell Bank is watching Bluesky and very concerned about their reputation. Wonder how they feel about sponsoring the radio station where the Vikings announcer called us paid protestors.

The snowglobe snow is so pretty that it's an immediate mood booster.

I had a theater company meeting and then shared a meal with my mother and aunt, and I can feel the release of tension - it was good to spend time with good company to replenish my reserves. Art and laughter are restorative, and I hope you’re able to find some, too.

KinhDo in Richfield. Everyone had their favorite order - my grandmother was hot and spicy chicken, an uncle was beef and potatoes - but everyone could have a bit of anything. Almost always takeout, eaten at my grandmother’s dining table. I wish I could have tried it again as an adult.

I bought an “Abolish ICE” flag from @flagsforgood.com in December. I’ve never put up a full-sized flag before - I have a rotating set of garden flags. This flag seemed so massive. It was startling to my partner and me when we looked at the house.

Anyways, it doesn’t seem too big anymore.
