i rarely get hardback books these days, so even though i pre-ordered your book i felt compelled to save it for a special occasion. i found it - i’m on vacation on the texas coast and your book has been a perfect beachside/poolside read for me. thank you!

the book in particular (and even more in particular, the book version of ian malcolm) was a huge hyperfixation for me when i was a kid circa 4th grade so i love to know this! it’s been decades since i re-read but that hyperfixated kid is still in there lol

10th wedding anniversary, we also went to corpus, & we drank rum punches at a very 70s beachside bar & the bartender looked like ron jeremy & he had been married for decades & he knew it was right because they started the same & they always wanted whataburger at the same times & we related so hard

i respect those who oppose marriage and i understand the reasons but ultimately i think it’s fun that there’s one random way two adults can legally decide to become family to each other so i decided to pick someone and i picked the best one for that role, & it has opened me up to so much more love

our marriage is unconventional but amazing because the thing about life is it’s really hard to do it alone. it’s good to find someone who shares your weirdnesses and ideas about what a good life is so you can take care of each other while you find and live your truth. that can take so many shapes.

tomorrow stephen & i are going to corpus christi to celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary - we went there for our honeymoon. when we go back we must always listen to “crank dat soulja boy” & “pop lock and drop it” as much as possible to honor 2007. our level of shrimp consumption will be ridiculous

asked my sister who is similarly allergic to the genre, she said the only one she found helpful was PRECIOUS LITTLE SLEEP for sleep training. otherwise she said best resource was her reddit birth group, she feels she got very lucky with a good bunch

most of my family lives near boca raton, florida. during a visit, we went to see A PERFECT MURDER (1998) (generic cheesy forgettable 90s mystery) and a character very dramatically asked another character “have you ever been to boca raton, florida?” whole theater died laughing.
