He’s a Trumper and has said some really nasty things throughout my life (especially about queer and trans people). I called him thinking this was the nail in the coffin as far as our relationship.

I just came out to my father as queer and trans. He shocked me by saying he just wants me to be happy and he loves me. I had basically cut him out of my life.

Yesterday was a big step for me. I wore clothes that I am comfortable wearing and presented as my full trans self for the first time at my job. :)

This happened to me on a recent night in Durham. It was nice! I realized I’m in a better space and more open to these things happening :)

My therapist and I were discussing how great it is this morning. As an older queer myself, I appreciate how it really holds up a mirror to so much of what made growing up in the ‘80s and ‘90s harder for a lot of us. I feel it really captures how being closeted impacted many of us.

The Scott and Kip episode was really good but heartbreaking. I was glad to see it got a bit of a happy ending. It’s been a really fun show to watch. We’re looking forward to rewatching as soon as the season is finished.

It was way more than I was expecting as well! I expected protesters, but they were out of control during the drag show. I’m really glad I went :)

I am slowly transitioning socially. This was a big step for me :)

A few milestones today:

-I took my kid to their first Pride event today. She enjoyed the kids zone & the drag show a lot. I did have to explain why there were protesters screaming nasty things at & booing the drag queens. She says bullies should stop that

-I wore a skirt in public for the 1st time
